The Society is delighted to announce that the project has been declared a runner–up in the AHI 2015 Discover Heritage Awards, in the Community Projects category, sponsored by the Canal and River Trust. The award was presented by Loyd Grossman CBE, Patron of AHI (the Association for Heritage Interpretation) at a ceremony held at 21st October at The Hilton Hotel, Newbury, Berkshire.

With 49 entries to all categories, Dr Bill Bevan, Vice Chair of AHI said, “The shortlisting process has been tough. The quality of the projects entered was exceptionally high and is a reflection of the quality of interpretation across Britain and Ireland.” This made the recognition of Cymdeithas Aberaeron’s efforts even more exciting.

Our thanks go to all the Project Team, Rose Phillips and Virginia Lowe (the two project officers) and Sally Hesketh and Clare Thomas (the joint project managers) and of course to all the volunteers, without whose help the project could not have been completed.
